NetEnt’s Butterfly Staxx preview
NetEnt’s last game release in the second quarter of this year will be the slot Butterfly Staxx. Full of butterflies and flowers, this game has quite a feminine touch, which we think is great since the amount of female gamblers is ever growing. Thankfully, this new slot doesn’t seem to be a copy/paste version of Neon Staxx, but rather a new and original game. The slot is set up with 5 reels and 4 rows, and has a total of 40 bet lines. Features include the Wild Symbol, re-spins and Butterfly Free Spins. Although the game itself is not scheduled to launch until the 21st of June, NetEnt released the official preview earlier this month. We decided to take a look, and of course give you a sneak peak into the game as well.
The Wild symbol can appear anywhere in the main game, as well as during re-spins, and can substitute all symbols except for Scatters. One of the most interesting features in this slot is the the Re-Spin feature. This will be activated when you land a full reel with Butterfly symbols. All of the Butterfly symbols will relocate to the leftmost position on the same row not already occupied by the same symbol. These symbols will remain in place during the re-spins. Re-spins will continue to be awarded until no more additional Butterfly symbols land on the reels.
The Butterfly Spins can be activated by landing at least 3 Scatter symbols. Three Scatter symbols will award 5 Butterfly Spins, four Scatter symbols will award 6 Butterfly Symbols and the highest amount of five Scatter symbols will award 7 Butterfly Spins. Rather than regular symbols, the free spins round in Butterfly Staxx will only show Cocoon symbols on the reels. There are two type of Cocoon symbols: domant and active. The activate Cocoon symbols will turn into Butterfly symbols which will again fly to the leftmost position. Since all Butterly symbols will remain on the reels until the spins are over, this can amount to a high number of the Butterfly symbols, and thus high pay-outs.
Extra information: the minimum bet is €0,20 and the maximum bet on this slot is €400. The theoretical return to player for this game is 96.80%. On the 21st of June NetEnt will release both the desktop and the mobile version of the game. Obviously it’s difficult to form a proper opinion about a new slot before playing it for real, however our first impression is that this might just become a new favourite for some players.
